No, not Halloween… my rather weighty edits to TALL, DARK & FANGSOME!
Coincidentally, I realized one of my themes in the book is survival and what it really means and what people are willing to do in order to not get voted off the proverbial island. Other themes included how we attempt to control ourselves and the world around us. Also, I seem to have a recurring theme in all of my work about the nature of good and evil. Is anyone really purely evil or good? Seems that I don’t think so since I keep making the “monsters” my main characters. I believe in shades of grey, but it’s the choices we make that make us mostly good or mostly evil. Also I threw in some self-sacrifice, dark seeds of jealousy, and the decision to embrace or eliminate the poison that exists inside all of us.
All tied up in a pretty, pink, humorous bow. With fangs.
Speaking of dealing with our inner monsters, I’m about to start LIVING IN EDEN, which deals with actual demonic possession (or my fictional take on it, at least). Good times. I can’t wait to get into this fun new book, but first i want to take a day or two and 1) recoop from my edits, and 2) do some brainstorming to get back into Eden’s and her inner demon’s world. FYI, her demon is named Darrak and he’s very hot. No pun intended.
But today I’m just going to chill, do some exciting grocery shopping, and finish reading a fun book I’ve been asked to blurb.
And yes, I know Nanowrimo started on Saturday. It’s going to have to wait a bit since my fingers are cramping from typing at the moment…..
