Blaze of Memory-smallBLAZE OF MEMORY

Out 3 November 2009

Nalini Singh returns to the Psy/Changeling world and its “breathtaking blend of passion, adventure, and the paranormal” as a woman without a past becomes the pawn of a man who controls her future…

Dev Santos discovers her unconscious and battered, with no memory of who she is. All she knows is that she’s dangerous. Charged with protecting his people’s most vulnerable secrets, Dev is duty-bound to eliminate all threats. It’s a task he’s never hesitated to complete…until he finds himself drawn to a woman who might yet prove the enemy’s most insidious weapon.

Stripped of her memories by a shadowy oppressor, and programmed to carry out cold-blooded murder, Katya Haas is fighting desperately for her sanity itself. Her only hope is Dev. But how can she expect to gain the trust of a man who could very well be her next target? For in this game, one must die…

I have to say I would love to have the power of precognition…. I do have dreams that are recurring and then turn out to be precognitive but I would love to know the future… truly…. when there is going to be a great sale.. LOL or knowing the winning lottery numbers…. now that power would help…

I would love to be an empath. Where I can know the emotions of the people I am talking too.

Hmm… any psychic ability? That’s really tough- I’d say seeing the future, or reading people’s minds… but really I think that can have more negatives than positives.

I’d like…telekinesis/psychokinesis? Or maybe astral projection… or a mix of the two? Can you imagine projecting an image of yourself to work? ;)

On one hand, I wouldn’t mind being an empath, but I think telekinesis would be cool too. Guess it’s a matter of wanting passive or active powers, and I could never really decide…

And, has to be said, I adore the Hunters Guild series and can’t wait for Archangel’s Kiss!

    Hi Michelle :)
I’d pick telepathy. I’d be able to solve a lot of crimes and save people.
    All the best,

I’d choose being able to read minds – with the option to turn it off as I chose. So when I’m curious (which is a lot), I’d have answers, but when I got sick of hearing the everyday or bad or whatever, bye-bye power…I don’t have to use you. And if something especially important came up after that, I’d temporarily turn it back on. And I’d have to be able to block others from doing the same back at me.

Then the only issue would be ethics – the invasion of privacy thing.

I wozld like to be a TK-V-Psy. That’s just like “Beam me up, Scotty” without Scotty. Never again I would have to travel in stinking trains or trams. And I never would have to get up to get a drink while reading a book. That would be so great!
Thanks for the chance to win!

The psychic ability I would like to have in Empathy because I am terrible at reading people.

Totally reading people’s minds. When I drive my car around and pass these cyclists who are waiting for their light to turn green, I can’t help but wonder what they think. I’d LOVE to know to actually find out what they are thinking.

Telepathy, empathy and precog dreams are all out for me! I’m an emotional person as it is — don’t think I’d be able to cope with feeling other peoples feelings, thinking their thoughts or have them interupting my delightful dreams.

No way — if I could have any psychic ability, I’d choose something I could turn on and off — like scrying or divination

Crystal Ball Seer would be ace, mysterious and pretty. You can cover it over until you’re ready to use it. Yeay.
Cartomancy is great too, because, again, it can be packed away when not in use.

But my favorite tool for divination, and the one I chose is:

I’d be a renowned Tea Leaf Reader because I’d get to divine the future AND enjoy a good cuppa with my clients before each reading :o) Sounds good!!!

If I had one power to choose? Hmmm… Telekinesis seems like it could be fun.

I don’t want empathy or telepathy. I have a hard enough time with my own emotions and thoughts. Besides, knowing is only half the battle. The other half is dealing with what you know.

Telekinesis, or maybe the ability to control the weather. Now THAT would be fun! :D

Looking forward to BoM–Love the books =)

I would love to be able to read people’s minds! It might get to be overwhelming, but you’d know who was telling the truth. If not that, I think instant healer. How about both? I read your mind, know what’s wrong, and fix it ;-)

Thanks for the giveaway, and congrats, Michelle, on your new release!

I think I’d like to be able to read people’s minds, but I’d have to be able to tune them out when I wanted to. It would get pretty overwhelming otherwise I think.

This is a tough one! I’m not sure that I’d want to read minds–what would we do without secrets? However, if I could have any supernatural power it would be having the ability to fly! I’m so jealous of birds! :)

Telekinesis! I want to be able to move things with my mind. My ethical dilemma would be refraining from tripping someone who’s really annoyed me. =)

Telekinesis would be an awesome power to posess. I would also like to read others minds as well. One of my pet peives is someone who lies so with that ability I would never have to worry about it.

Ooh – another vote for Telekinesis, Judd-style *sigh* :D

I would *hate* to be able to see the future – if it was awful it could/would drive me nuts trying to effect things so that they didn’t happen.

Well, if I could choose ANYTHING, it would be to be an empath with the ability to trace. Needless to say, I hate the time and effort it takes to get somewhere and ON TIME, hehe.

  38. Shannon McKelden

I think telekinesis would be the one with the least likelihood of ending up with something I didn’t want (like knowing what someone was REALLY thinking of me), so I’ll take that one.

    Love your books, Nalini!

I have a lot of psychic abilities. I am clairvoyant, clairaudient, empathic, a medium, and many others. I just hate the medium stuff because I hate dead people waking me up in the middle of the night.

I’d love the power of rearranging one’s emotions. What can I say, I’m a romantic. Maybe I could be Cupid’s little sister and give him a well deserved vacation. Would that count? :P
