30 Days of Demons – Day 7 – Jill Myles
***Thank you to all the commenters and thank you to Jill for visiting! The winner of the signed copy of Gentlemen Prefer Succubi is comment #27 – Maria Pilipina Dias! Congrats! Maria has been contacted by email to claim her prize.***
To celebrate the countdown to my new release, the first book in the Living in Eden series, THE DEMON IN ME, I’m blogging every day (well, I’m going to try!) — and some days I have fabulous guests and prizes!
Today it’s the demonically delicious Jill Myles, author of the Succubus Diaries series. She’s generously giving away a signed copy of GENTLEMEN PREFER SUCCUBI to a randomly selected commenter (US addresses only please). Winner will be chosen Saturday, April 10th at 10:00 p.m. EST. Good luck!

Welcome Jill! What inspired you to write about demons?
I wanted to write about a normal girl that had been turned into something awful, and see how she’d cope with it. Turning her into a succubus seemed like a pretty heinous thing to do to a character, and the rest played itself out from there.
Demons — shades of gray or always evil?
I have two kinds of creatures in my books – the real demons, and the succubi (which are actually not all that demonic). I like to think of my succubi as truly neutral. They’re only out for themselves and bounce between both good and evil. My true demons are always evil, and always up to no good.
What’s your demonically awesome book about?
Gentlemen Prefer Succubi is about Jackie Brighton, who gets turned into a succubus, and now she has to have sex to survive. It’s kind of a bad gig for her, because she’s not great with men. Plus, she has to answer to two very sexy, very different masters. And did I mention that she has to work as a go-between for the good guys (angels) and bad guys (demons)? Yeah. She’s definitely got her plate full.
Let’s say that Jim Cameron calls and he’s interested in making Gentlemen Prefer Succubi into a movie. Who are your actor/actress choices?
Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) as Jackie, Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) as Noah, and Chris Pine (Star Trek) as Zane. Yum.
What’s your one line of advice for aspiring writers (demonic or otherwise)?
Play up your strengths. If you’re not great at writing knock-down-drag-out fight scenes, write quieter stories. If you’re really good at writing dialogue, or mystery, write those. Not only will it feel more natural, but you’ll feel more confident about what you write. Confidence is a big must in this business.

Wow what a great little Q & A! Don’t count me in because I live in Canada, but I can’t wait to get my hands on The Demon In Me annnnd I’ll have to pick up Gentlemen Prefer Succubi the next time I am in Chapters!
Wow, that cover is awesome – Definitely would like to check that one out -in addition to The Demon in Me of course, which quite frankly can’t come out soon enough!:)
You know, I’ve seen her series of books in the store, and because I’ve seen definitions of succubi in other authors’ books, I wasn’t interested as much in the series, but after reading this interview and description, I am absolutely going to start reading today!!! Thank you for this and for educating me!
Great interview. Gentlemen Prefer Succubi sounds good. I like the cover.
Interview. Great. Cover. HAWT!
I really enjoy reading demon stories so this one is right up my alley.
Thanks for the interview and contest ladies.
Great interview! No need to enter me in the contest since I already have the book. (Which rocks, btw!) Just wanted to come support Jill.
[...] Did I mention I’m giving away a free signed copy of GENTLEMEN PREFER SUCCUBI if you comment? G… (Sidenote: My succubi aren’t *really* demons but I do have demons in my books, so I totally count. Right? Right.) Share and Enjoy: [...]
Looks like a great book! I love this cover too
Great interview! I’m interested in the succubi storyline and have had the book on my wishlist for a long time. I’d love to win a copy.
Nice interview! Great advice on writing, and I like Jill’s hypothetical movie cast choices.
A friend of mine suggested this book to me a few weeks ago and I’ve been wanting to pick it up.
Although I’ve never actually read a book where the main character shares my name, that might be strange at first.
by the way I’m very excited for The Demon in Me!
This would be a new author for me, sounds good! The cover is HOT!!!!
love the cover HOTTTTTTt
i like the sounds of the story
I loved these two books. I laughed so hard and just had a few hours of sheer enjoyment. I have the kindle of the first book and the paper of Succubi like it hot so it would be awesome to win.
I can’t wait to keep reading and find out WHAT finally happens with Zane and Noah or whoever else might come along
I laughed so much reading the Succubi books. Now I have to reread both books, picturing Noah as Jax!
Ohh Chris Pine is a good choice and a hottie!!!
Great interview! That books sounds so good and extremely sexy. Every book I see on here I want to read! I’d love to have a chance to win.

Enjoyed reading the Q&A too.
I enjoy Jill’s books. I liked finding out who she would like to play her characters in a movie.

I have seen this book and would love to get my hands on this book!
Thanks for a chance!
This sounds like a really great book.
I confess I have never ever given thought to who would be the chaacters in my story. They just seem so much larger than life to me that I wouldn’t be able to fit them into any actor or actress.
Great stuff!
I saw this book in the store and the title cracked me up, I had to buy it. I’m so glad I did, I love it! I can’t wait until the next one comes out!!
I’ve heard this a great series and I’ve been meaning to start it. The cover is very, very, nice.
