A couple reviews for DP#2

The Demon in Me isn’t the only book (about demons) I have out this month! MAY IS DEMON MONTH IN THE ROWENVERSE.

Two fantastic reviews for Demon Princess: Reign Check, my second young adult fantasy, from Kirkus and Booklist!

Nikki Donovan still isn’t used to the idea that she’s a demon princess, heiress to a vast netherworld called the Shadowlands (Reign or Shine, 2009). She’s happy to be back to the normal, boring halls of high school until a hot foreign-exchange student, Rhys, enrolls. Rhys, who is actually the faery king, ends any hope Nikki had for normalcy. To further complicate Nikki’s life, her best friend is training to become a demon slayer, and the boy who took her to the winter dance might know exactly what she is. News of a prophecy that states Nikki will bring about the apocalypse shakes the Underworld, so Nikki travels into hostile territory to confront the Underworld council. Underworld politics and a love triangle among Rhys, Nikki and Nikki’s Shadow boyfriend Michael keep the story moving along. Nikki’s disbelief that she’s a major demon player brings humor, but she is never obnoxious or overly witty. This volume should leave readers breathless and wondering what royalty and love will bring to their horned heroine. — Kirkus Reviews

Half-human, half-demon Nikki Donovan continues her intriguing tightrope between her semi-normal highschool persona and the knowledge that she is the potential heir to the Shadowlands throne. In this installment, she learns that her best friend, Melinda, is a demon-slayer-in-training; the faery king, Rhys, has enrolled in high school; and a dragon oracle has prophesized that Nikki, “the first Darkling born in a thousand years, will single-handedly destroy us all.” Another chilling, sometimes violent, romantic fantasy that moves from the mundane world to the Shadowlands to the dungeons of the Underground before Nikki can finish her Christmas shopping.”— Booklist

Your head must be spinning with two releases this month! I just picked up The Demon in Me today:) My husband took me to lunch and then Schuler Books– I think they are just in Michigan but they are a big chain bookstore. I can’t wait to start it:)

It is spinning. :) Believe me, having them a bit wider apart would have helped my promo a bit, but I’m not unhappy to have them both out in May.

I bought The Demon In Me on the 5th. I am about halfway through it and I have to tell you…I love it! The only thing that confuses me is how well Eden takes being possessed be a demon, because I have to tell you, that would freak me out! OMG, and I ADORE your love triangles! As sexy as Darrak is…I’m rooting for Ben! The thing that is the most amazing to me is that even though you wrote this in third person it still sounds like Eden. Your scenes have made me laugh out loud, I’ve even had to read parts of it to my husband.

Is Ben going to be a big part of this series?

@Ash: I can’t pick a favorite. They’re both my favorites, just in different ways (just like kids). And I’ll write as many books as my publisher lets me.

@Tori: Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying it. Eden freaked a bit, but I couldn’t very well have her screaming for 300 pages. I thought it made more sense for her to take things in stride and try to find a swift solution. ;)

Michelle- Finished the book yesterday! LOVED the ending. Can’t wait to see what happens with Ben. And I REALLY didn’t expect it to end the way it did. October seems so far away.

When will you find out if you get to write a third book? I’m guessing it depends how the first two sell?

And I understand. It would be annoying if Eden spent the entire time freaking out. I like how strong she has been through the entire book. It makes me care that much more about the bad things that happen to her.

Can’t wait to see more of Ben! Poor guy!

Hi, I was just wondering if there will be a third book for the demon princess series! And if you had to estimate when will it be out and what will be the name? ( these questions are for yes and also this one!) also, what would it be about? (last question!) and will Rhys and Nikki be together or Michel and Nikki?! And what would be the percents of both couples? That is my last question! I know it’s bad! But I am REALLY, curious!
    Thanks! :D <3 Olivia!!

Hey Olivia… unfortunately no more books are currently contracted in the series but I really want to write more about Nikki if I’m given the chance in the future. I TOTALLY want to keep exploring that love triangle. ;) I’ll definitely post here on the website if there is any news about more books.
