Bitten & Smitten is set in my hometown of Toronto, Canada, and uses real-life settings for some of Sarah's adventures as a fledgling vampire:

The City of Toronto
Toronto is Canada's largest city and the provincial capital of Ontario with a population of 2.5 million people.

The Bloor Viaduct
The Bloor Viaduct is the bridge that spans the Don River Valley in Toronto. It's 490 meters long and 40 meters high and has been the site of over 400 suicides, second only to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco.

The Toronto Eaton Centre
The Eaton Centre is a large shopping mall in downtown Toronto. In terms of the number of visitors, it is Toronto's top tourist attraction.

The PATH
The PATH is Toronto's Underground city, connecting subways, shopping, theatres, SkyDome, government buildings and entertainment in kilometres of climate controlled comfort. According to Guinness, Toronto has the largest underground shopping complex.

The CN Tower
The CN Tower is the tallest building and free-standing structure in the world, at over 1800 feet. It is considered the signature icon of Toronto and attracts over 2 million visitors annually.

360 The Restaurant
360 The Restaurant is located at
the top of the CN Tower and boasts award-winning cuisine and a spectacular revolving view of downtown Toronto.

Since I picture each scene like a movie in my mind while I'm writing, I need a decent cast! While reading the book, you may have a different idea of what the characters look like, but here's who I'd pick for my dream cast of Bitten & Smitten:

F u n   F a c t s

The original idea for Bitten & Smitten stemmed from the thought: "What if Bridget Jones was a vampire?"

The original title was "Diary of the Dearly Departed"

Some other titles that were considered: "Hungrily Ever After", "Vamp, Interrupted", "Dearly Devoured" (!!!)

The first 75 pages took me over a year to write, but the rest only took me three months
