I have permission to show off my fabulous cover for DARK KISS, the first book in my new young adult urban fantasy Nightwatchers series I’m writing for Harlequin Teen. There may still be a few tweaks to this cover before everything is absolutely final, but I have to say — I think it’s my favorite cover ever! (Please meet my hero, Bishop — ain’t he cute?). Also, this book has a very special place in my heart — definitely one of my faves I’ve ever written and I hope readers enjoy it a lot!!
This book is out June 2012. Will be sharing more information about this book as we draw closer to the release date — and Harlequin Teen will be sharing the back cover copy soon, likely on their Facebook page. Will keep you posted!

Happy Easter! I’m restraining myself from eating any chocolate eggs since I’m back on the Jenny Craig wagon and trying to be a good girl with a shrinking waistline. TRYING HARD.
I received my cover for THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC and I’m really liking it. Darrak’s pretty hot, I have to admit it!

Here’s what I have for the back cover blurb:
When it comes to magic, sparks aren’t the only thing that can ignite…
Reluctant witch Eden Riley knows that codependent relationships aren’t good, but it’s hard to be independent when you’re possessed by a sexy but troublemaking demon. Darrak’s physical form makes good girl Eden want to go bad, but the constant itch to use the soul-destroying black magic she’s recently acquired might force Eden to explore her dark side in an entirely different way.
When her dangerous magic starts manifesting itself without conscious effort, Darrak insists she seek outside help—which also leads them to the potential answer to ending the demon’s curse. Suddenly, everything starts spiraling completely out of control, threatening both her life and the possibility of a future with Darrak—since only one of them might be able to survive this…
A lot of stuff happens in this book, which I really can’t talk about since it would all be a Big Fat Spoiler, but let’s just say, I think the third and final book in the Living in Eden trilogy is the strongest of the three and readers who’ve enjoyed Eden and Darrak’s journey so far (and hopefully new readers who have yet to pick up the books) won’t be disappointed.
This book will be out on December 6th, which seems like a hella long time from now but I know that time is going to FLY BY. I should start Christmas shopping right now, I think.
Today I’m happy to say I officially finished DARK KISS, my first book for Harlequin Teen. It was an exhausting second draft — some second drafts take it out of me and this one did. But it was worth it because I’m really happy with the story. The characters aren’t too happy with what I’ve put them through, but really, they should have expected no less from me. Didn’t they get the memo?
It took me a couple days longer than I expected to finish that book up, which means one thing. There’s no rest of the wicked. Lucky for me, the next book up is one I’m really looking forward to writing. I’ll be rolling right into BLOOD BATH & BEYOND, the new paranormal mystery (I think of it more as “light urban fantasy with mystery and romantic elements,” but that would be too much to go on a spine) I’m writing featuring Sarah Dearly.
I already have the 90 pages I wrote for the initial proposal, so I’m off to a strong start on this one. I think I might just reread Tall, Dark & Fangsome to revisit Sarah and her world. BB&B will be a book readers can pick up without having ANY prior knowledge of Sarah, and I won’t be promoting it heavily as being associated with the Immortality Bites series, since it’s with a fabulous new publisher and it’s in a fabulous new genre, but, well, I’d like to refresh my memory a bit when it comes to Sarah’s very special voice and sense of humor. Yeah, that’s as clear as mud. Thanks Michelle! You’re welcome!
Um… I think that’s it for now. I’m sitting here with a Doctor Who marathon on the TV right now. The premiere of the latest season is on my DVR but I haven’t watched it yet. Have I ever mentioned that I’m a major Whovian? Well, just the tenth doctor, mostly, but it’s all good!

I am really LOVING this cover so much — it’s perfect for the book. The art department at Penguin is truly talented! I think I’m on a cover roll!!
BLOODLUST is the second book about Jillian Conrad, a woman who’s injected with a formula that turns her blood poisonous to vampires. It comes out July 5, 2011 from Berkley Sensation, following both NIGHTSHADE, the first book, and “Bleeding Heart,” a novella in the PRIMAL anthology, which both come out in unison on February 1st. I’m going to hold off on posting the back cover copy for BLOODLUST for a bit longer since, while fantastic, it has a bit of a spoiler for the first book in it.
However, I am going to put up the first chapter for NIGHTSHADE a bit early. So if you want a little taste of my darker world of Jillian Conrad, please give a read right here. Only 2-1/2 months till it’s officially out!
NIGHTSHADE, PRIMAL, and BLOODLUST are all up for pre-order on Amazon right now.

Here’s the full cover for my third Harlequin Blaze, INEVITABLE, which will be out March 1, 2011….
That does look like a dangerous bottle, doesn’t it?

And my second Blaze, TOUCH AND GO, is officially out on November 1st, but I’ve already seen it on the shelves around here. Hard to believe October is almost over!!

I’m very excited to get this cover! I’m really liking it! The blue title will be done in foil so that’ll look fantastic.
NIGHTSHADE will be released in February 2011 at the same time that the PRIMAL anthology is out. That will contain a novella taking place right after the events in this book, so it’s a double dose of my Nightshade world with no waiting (the antho was originally scheduled for April but got moved up). NIGHTSHADE is an urban fantasy with a large helping of romance, and darker (and sexier) than my usual paranormal single title books. But as you can see by my fabulous Kelley Armstrong quote, the edge of humor in my voice creeps in even if I’m not even trying to be funny!
I’m very proud of this book so I’m glad that it got a kick-ass cover!

Back cover copy:
Jillian Conrad never believed in vampires. But she’s just become a living, breathing weapon against them. Attacked by a desperate scientist, she is injected with a serum that was supposed to act as a deadly poison to vampires. And when the scientist is gunned down in front of her, his secrets die with him.
Declan Reyes was only half-vampire, but he hates them with all his heart. He knows that the poison in Jillian’s veins could finally destroy the undead kingdom. Also, the serum has had an unintended effect, making her blood irresistible to all vampires—including Declan, whose bloodthirsty traits are driven into a frenzy by her.
Driven by duty to protect her and by instinct to crave her, Declan takes Jillian into his shadowy world of blood and battle. But he soon realizes his increasing need for her may be a different kind of hunger…

Just got permission to show this one off! Isn’t it pretty??
PRIMAL is the anthology I’m very excited to be in that’s coming out April 2011 and includes my novella, BLEEDING HEART, that’s got the same world and characters as my Feb 2011 and Aug 2011 urban fantasy releases. Vampires, edge-of-your-seat action, and hot romance. Yes, please! I like to think the model on this represents my hero, Declan. The guy, not the wolf, that is.

What do you think? I’m kinda loving this cover. Hot stuff!!! Click on cover to see it larger and read the back cover blurb to see what TOUCH AND GO is all about. FYI, just like HOT SPELL, this is also a book about a couple agents from PARA (Paranormal Assessment and Recovery Agency)…

It’s out in November — Pre-order at Amazon.com!
