Sheesh! Neglected page alert! Sorry, it’s been a hectic, busy, and awesome 14 months since the last news update. Let me give you the one-stop overview of what’s going on in the Rowenverse…..
2012 is the year of New Beginnings and Fresh Fiction from yours truly. I have 3, count ‘em THREE new series starting up and I’m madly in love with each and every one of them.
On May 22nd, the first book in my young adult Nightwatchers series begins with DARK KISS. It’s an exciting, dangerous, romantic, magical intro to the world of seventeen year old Samantha Day and her adventures in a city with some major secrets. I just finished the sequel, WICKED KISS, which will be out early next year. I’ve been playing with this idea and this world for several years and I’m so thrilled to get the chance to get it out there with Harlequin Teen. And HOT cover, too. I’m very lucky! I’ll be putting up an excerpt very soon. Check out my Nightwatchers Facebook page that you can “like” for updates!
On August 7th, the first book in my Immortality Bites Mystery series begins with BLOOD BATH & BEYOND. Yes, you read that series title right. This IS a Sarah Dearly book — but it’s a spin-off of the original series, since we’re moving from paranormal romance to paranormal mystery, as well as a fabulous new publisher, NAL. But don’t worry, there is still plenty of romance in the book (with Sarah’s significant other from the original series — of course!) to go along with the sleuthing. Quite honestly, I could write Sarah books quite happily for the rest of my life. She’s so much fun. And I love BB&B a whole lot…plus the cover is so adorable! I am literally starting the second book in the series BLED & BREAKFAST right after I finish updating this page. For anyone curious, the first chapter is excerpted at the back of THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC. I’ll also be posting a excerpt on my website a bit closer to the release date. Fangtastic!
Last, but certainly not least, on December 11th, the first book in the young adult high fantasy Falling Kingdoms series begins with FALLING KINGDOMS. I’m writing this for Razorbill under the pen name Morgan Rhodes — who looks just like me, but is a bit thinner. It’s pitched as a “Game of Thrones for teens,” and I had a TON of fun writing it. Can’t wait to share more info, including the incredibly gorgeous cover.
In other book news, here’s the official announcement for another book I sold to Harlequin Teen that I’m super-excited about, since the original is one of my favorites from my backlist…
And for Demon Princess fans, don’t worry, I WILL be working on the fourth and final title, REIGN STORM, in my spare time — of which, I must admit, I don’t have very much! I do appreciate your patience, and promise that the book WILL be written to finish off the series right. Check out my Demon Princess Facebook page that you can “like” for updates!
2011 is going to be a great year. I insist. No, really. I INSIST. I have a whole bunch of releases this year that I’m excited to get on the shelves and in readers’ hands. I’m hoping they will be well received.
Things get rolling in February with Nightshade and I’m a bit apprehensive about this, I can’t help it! I love this book, but I gotta admit — it’s way darker, way more edgy than anything I’ve done before. It’s kind of a mix of horror, urban fantasy, and sexy paranormal romance about a woman named Jillian Conrad who’s injected with a secret formula that turns her blood both deadly and irresistible to vampires. Sound cool to you? Well, then, I hope you like it! Following this book is a novella called Bleeding Heart, which picks up Jill’s story in the Primal anthology (featuring Lora Leigh, Ava Gray, and Jory Strong). And Jill’s not done yet! She’s back in July with Bloodlust. Please note: my Nightshade vampires do not sparkle. And there is violence and scary scenes. And sex! BLOOD, VIOLENCE and SEX. This is not Bitten & Smitten, y’all.
BRING IT ON, VAMPIRE WRITER!!! I, and my muse, love this kind of stuff.
To lighten things up I have a fun and super sexy Harlequin Blaze out in March — Inevitable follows a couple PARA agents as they inadvertently discover a lust potion that makes life a little more complicated for them. In all the right ways. Uh-huh. It’s a whole lot of fun.
And, wait…there’s more! To finish off 2011, I have the third book in my Living in Eden trilogy, That Old Black Magic. I just finished writing this the other day as a matter of fact and have to say it was great fun to spend more time with Darrak and Eden and their complicated quest for their ultimate happily ever after. Do they succeed? Well, you’re just going to have to wait till December to find out!
So that’s what I’ve already written and waiting to be released. What have I been selling lately?
I was very thrilled to sell two young adult books to Harlequin Teen, the first of which will be out March 2012 — Nightwatchers is about a 16-year-old girl who’s thrown into a team of angels and demons forced to work together against a common foe. I can promise a fun, fast-moving story and, most definitely, a love triangle. I do enjoy love triangles.
Blood Bath & Beyond is the first of two books I’ve sold to Penguin/NAL which will feature my vampire fledgling heroine Sarah Dearly — yes, SARAH’s back! — and her significant other, starting a BRAND NEW SERIES in the paranormal mystery genre. I could not be happier to get the chance to work with these fun characters again. This will be out Summer 2012!
I also very recently sold a novella to Harlequin Blaze for one of their super fun and sexy Blazing Bedtime Stories anthologies — these stories are based on fairytales or myths. Mine is going to be called Catch Me and it’s my take on the Gingerbread Man tale.
So there you have it! I’m keeping busy, which I like very much. I feel very grateful to get the chance to continue sharing my imagination with the world — be it my dark or light side. Thank you to my readers for buying my books and for all the lovely reader mail I’m lucky enough to receive. You all rock!
It’s summer! And only a few weeks from now I’ll be in Orlando, Florida at the 30th Annual Romance Writers of America National Conference. I can’t believe this will be my sixth conference!! Where does the time go???
A busy year so far…. the first book in my Living in Eden series, The Demon in Me, released to fantastic reviews and reader responses. Readers seem to like Darrak as much as I like writing him! And there isn’t that long before the second book, Something Wicked, comes out in October.
I’m happy to say that I was offered a new contract for the third Living in Eden book. Look for That Old Black Magic to be released late next year.
The second Demon Princess book, Reign Check, is also out now! Go Team Michael. Or Team Rhys. Even I haven’t decided.
My old pal Sarah Dearly gets a new look as Bitten & Smitten, Fanged & Fabulous, and Lady & the Vamp (okay, well, Sarah’s not in that one, but still) release in the UK monthly starting July 15th. Check out my International Editions page to see the great covers as well as cool covers and recent sales from across the globe.
Speaking of Sarah, I was very happy to receive the Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice award when Tall, Dark & Fangsome won for Vampire Romance at the RT Booklovers Convention in Columbus, Ohio in April! It was fangtastic!
Next year, in addition to my darker, sexy, kickbutt, edge-of-your-seat urban fantasy/paranormal vampire romances Nightshade (February) and Bloodlust (July), I’m going to be in the Primal anthology with Bleeding Heart, a novella that takes place shortly after the events in NIGHTSHADE. It’s also out in February. Also in this antho are Lora Leigh, Ava Gray, and Jory Strong. It’s going to be awesome!
Happy New Year! 2010 is going to be a great year. I can just feel it. I really hope that’s not just wishful thinking.
In 2010 I have three novels and one anthology coming out….
The Demon in Me, the first book in my shiny new Living in Eden paranormal romance series with Berkley Sensation is out May 4th. I love these new characters (well, they’re not really new to me since I’ve been writing about them for well over a year now!) and I hope readers will like them too. Eden, the heroine, is possessed with a demon who needs her help to break his curse. Romantic demonic possession. It could happen! Let me show you! Here’s the trailer I did for this book that will give you a taste for what’s to come…
On May 25, the second book in my Demon Princess series, Reign Check, hits the shelves. Nikki’s further adventures!
Scheduled for release in July, I’m taking part in a YA anthology called Kiss Me Deadly. I haven’t written this story yet, but since the deadline is the end of this month I’ll be getting on it any day now! Should be fun!
Something Wicked, the second book in the Living in Eden series, is out in October. Sexy demons, witches, shapeshifters — romance, mystery, action, suspense, humor!! Dude. I totally have you covered. No worries.
So them’s my releases so far. Me likey. I hope you likey, too.
Right now I’m easing into the second book in my darker, sexier, scarier Nightshade books I’m writing for Penguin. Urban fantasy with vampires and a smidgen of romance (well, possibly more than a smidgen depending on how you look at it.) I’m calling this book Devil’s Apple at the moment, which, just like Nightshade, is a naturally found poison. Yum! This reflects on the plot which I’m staying mysterious about until everything’s nailed on this miniseries. I don’t have a release date on these books yet. Soon, I hope!
The writing of this follows directly on the heels of me finishing my second super smexxy Harlequin Blaze (the UF and this are très different books) Touch and Go, which I submitted to my editor yesterday.
In other news, I’m happy to report that Tall, Dark & Fangsome has sold rights to Blanvalet/Random House, therefore the entire Immortality Bites series will soon be available in German. I don’t have a cover or release date for this but I’ll add it to my International Editions page the moment I have that data.
Speaking of Tall, Dark & Fangsome, I’m happy to report that it’s been nominated for a Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award for Vampire Romance. Go Team Thierry!! Rah!
Oh, my. I’ve become one of those people. You know, the ones who only update their news page a couple times a year. How embarrassing. Forgive me!
But seriously, if you really want to know what’s up with yours truly on a day to day, hour to hour basis, I am usually on Twitter these days much more than I probably should be.
In any case… news! What on earth has happened in the past seven months in the Rowenverse?
Well…I just handed in my 12th contracted novel. I’m calling it Something Wicked and it’s the follow up to The Demon in Me, that I’ll be talking about a great deal more once I get cover art that I can shameless flaunt like a shameless flaunting hussy. LiE is due out next May and SW is slotted for October and I’m very, very excited about both of these books. Could be because the hero, Darrak, a funny but tortured demon who lost his body thanks to a witch’s curse 300 years ago, may just possibly be my favorite hero I’ve written. (Don’t tell the others, though. They’re very sensitive).
Speaking of funny and tortured heroes, Thierry de Bennicoeur joins Sarah Dearly et al in the last book of my Immortality Bites series, TALL, DARK & FANGSOME, out August 25th! Well, okay. Thierry isn’t really one to crack many jokes. Or, any at all, really. But he means well.
In any case, TD&F just received a fanged and fabulous 4-1/2 stars from Romantic Times, who said: “…highly satisfactory conclusion…Rowen’s sassy style of storytelling has allowed this plucky heroine to blossom while she takes readers on an amazing journey. Brava!”
While I’m very sad to say good-bye to Sarah, I’m extremely pumped about everything I have planned to follow it. Including the first book in my young adult series DEMON PRINCESS: REIGN OR SHINE that follows right on the heels of my vamps in October! Please, visit my YA site to get more info on this.
But do you honestly think I’m all done with vampires? If you think that, you do not know me, my friend. I’m lucky enough to be given the chance to explore the darker side of vamps in my Nightshade books that I’ve recently sold to my editor at Berkley Books. More info about this here.
And, of course, I can’t forget about my Harlequin Blaze, Hot Spell, which was fun as hell to write and is coming out in November.
So what have I been doing since my last official news update in January? I’ve been writing. A lot. And having a great time with it (well, most of the time). Now, if you’ll excuse me… I have to get back to that writing. Or Twittering. One or the other……
Oh, and I’ll also be waiting anxiously for New Moon to come out in November. Can’t help it. I’m a total fangirl.
Happy New Year! Wow, what a great year 2008 was! I’m crossing my fingers that 2009 is going to be even better!
This year I have FOUR officially scheduled book releases and one anthology coming out. All are written as Michelle Rowen.
April ’09 – Stakes & Stilettos (Immortality Bites #4 – check out the final cover art for this in the sidebar!)
April ’09 – The Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance (Anthology)
Sept ’09 – Tall, Dark & Fangsome (Immortality Bites #5 – the last title in the series)
Oct ’09 – Demon Princess: Reign or Shine (my debut young adult fantasy novel, the first in a new series!)
Nov ’09 – Hot Spell (my first super-sexy Harlequin Blaze novel!)
I’m very excited about all of my new releases and can’t wait to see them on the shelves! Keep up to date with all my upcoming releases on my Coming Soon page.
I’m also very excited that my novel Countdown, written as Michelle Maddox, has been nominated for a Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award for Futuristic/Fantasy Romance. I’ll be attending the RT Booklovers convention, which is in Orlando in April. Looking forward to it! I could use some palm trees right about now, actually.
My alter ego will also have a short story in The Mammoth Book of Time Travel Romance which will be out in 2010.
Overseas in Germany, Ein Anfang mit Biss, which is the translation of Bitten & Smitten (literal title translation is “A Beginning with Bite”) is now out with the German versions of Fanged & Fabulous and Lady & the Vamp following in March and May. I’m happy to report that translation rights have also been recently sold for Stakes & Stilettos. Ausgezeichnet!
I’ve been busily writing my first book for Berkley Books, my paranormal romance about demonic possession (It’s totally possible. Trust me) Living in Eden. Next up on my writing schedule is the second book in my Demon Princess YA series for Walker Books for Young Readers.
In other words, I’m up to my eyeballs in demons! But nice ones. Well, most of ‘em, anyhow.
My alter ego, Michelle Maddox‘s debut novel, the futuristic, action-packed romance Countdown, is now on the shelves. It received a 4-1/2 star Top Pick from Romantic Times that said: “This book starts off fast and never looks back as it throws its gutsy protagonists into a do-or-die scenario. Memorable and scary, this first-person novel is a roller-coaster ride of the first magnitude!” Learn more about it here.
I’ve recently returned from the RWA National Conference in San Francisco, California, and I had a wonderful time. I’ll be posting some pics to my gallery soon.
I am very happy to report that I’ve sold some more books, bringing my total of contracted books (on the shelves or in-progress) to twelve! That’s a nice round number, I think! Here’s the details from Publishers Marketplace:
Michelle Rowen’s LIVING IN EDEN, about a telephone psychic named Eden who becomes possessed by a demon…and then falls in love with him, to Cindy Hwang at Berkley, by Jim McCarthy at Dystel & Goderich Literary Management (World)
Children’s: Young Adult
Michelle Rowen’s NIKKI DONOVAN: Demon Princess, the romance author’s YA debut about a girl who discovers on her 16th birthday that her absentee father is actually a king, in the underworld, to Stacy Cantor at Walker, in a two-book deal, by Jim McCarthy at Dystel & Goderich Literary Management (World).
Obviously I’m very excited…and very busy! And that’s a good thing! Check back soon for more info on both of these projects which should be out the first half of 2010.
The Mammoth Book of Paranormal Romance is an anthology that will be out late next year. I will be writing a short story for it and look forward to this fab opportunity. I’m in good company!
I’m almost finished the fifth and final book in my “Immortality Bites” vampire series which has recently undergone a title change. It was previously known (mostly to me) as Devils & Diamonds, but shall hereby be referred to as Tall, Dark & Fangsome (Sept ’09). It’s sad to say good-bye to these characters, whom I’ve hung out with for five books and five years since I first started writing Bitten & Smitten way back in ’03. But in the end, I feel that I’ve wrapped up fledgling vampire Sarah Dearly’s tale in the best way possible and hope that readers will enjoy both books #4 (Stakes & Stilettos – April ’09) and #5 that will be out next year.
I’m currently sitting right in between my two book releases of the year. Lady & the Vamp came out at the beginning of April and Countdown, by my alter ego Michelle Maddox, is out at the beginning of August. Life is good!
I’ll be attending Book Expo Canada in Toronto on June 15 where I’ll be signing ARCs of Countdown, so if you’re able to attend, come and look for me at the Dorchester booth (#928).
Currently I am awaiting copy edits to Stakes & Stilettos, which will be out February ’09, and I have started writing, in earnest (which means a deadline is looming) Devils & Diamonds, which is the fifth and final book in my Immortality Bites vampire series.
In other news, I’m very happy to announce that I just sold a proposal to Harlequin Blaze! My book is tentatively titled Feels Like Magic and will be a fun and sexy paranormal story. Check back soon, or on my blog, for more information as I get it.
Also, I had a great time in Pittsburgh at the Romantic Times BookLovers Convention and I’ve posted pictures if you’d like to take a look!
Snow, snow, go away! I am looking very forward to Spring this year if only to get rid of this cold white stuff on the ground. Also, because Spring signals the fact that Lady & the Vamp will be released at the beginning of April! That’s next month!! The first three chapters are now available to be read here on my website. If you’d like to read Chapter 4…and get sneak peeks of lots of other fun stuff, consider joining my Yahoo! Chat Group.
I will be attending the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention in Pittsburgh, PA next month and I’m really looking forward to it. If you’re in the area, or already attending the convention, please stop by and say hi during the big signing on Saturday, April 19 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. More details here.
Prose by any other name… my alter ego Michelle Maddox who writes action- and suspense-packed speculative romance for Dorchester Publishing’s SHOMI line has launched her website. Five months until Countdown is released in August ’08. Can’t wait!
Wow. I can’t believe it’s the beginning of another year. Like, seriously. Where is the time going? I remember when I was a teenager (back in the glorious 80s, when men really knew how to wear make-up and have big hair) time seemed to take forever to go by. It’s different now. My life feels like it’s on fast forward. Time to slow down and smell the roses. Unfortunately, since it’s the dead of winter, I’ll have to wait a couple of months. But I digress. News! Glorious news!
I have posted the first chapter of Lady & The Vamp. The book will be on the shelves in only three little months. This book ended up being a real favorite of mine as I wrote it — with a very sassy heroine to help heal a certain reluctant vampire’s broken heart. Hint: she’s very successful! It’s a hunt for treasure, redemption and true love — fangs included at no extra charge.
I have officially handed in the final manuscript for Stakes & Stilettos (Feb. ’09). We’re back to Sarah’s story with this one, and trust me — things are definitely not getting easier for my fledgling vampire. At all. This book is part one of a two book story arc that will finish off the Immortality Bites series in a way that I hope will be delicious and satisfying. Like a nice steak dinner with one of those loaded baked potatoes. Yum! (I’m writing this before dinner. Perhaps I should eat something). Anyhow, I’m really happy with how S&S turned out. Hopefully my editor will agree. I’m taking a couple of weeks off and then I’m starting work on Devils & Diamonds (well, it’s the working title, anyhow) which will be out July ’09.
I was thrilled to find out that German translation rights have been sold for the first three books in the Immortality Bites series! So, starting mid-2009, Bitten & Smitten, Fanged & Fabulous, and Lady & The Vamp will be available in German with cool new covers. Can’t wait to see them!
No news is good news for a while since it means that I’ve been busy writing. I’m almost finished the first draft of Sarah Dearly’s third adventure, the fourth book in the Immortality Bites series, Stakes & Stilettos (which will be out April ’09), and it is coming along quite well, I think! The book will take place three weeks after the events of Fanged & Fabulous and involve such scary things as witches, curses, and high school reunions. Not necessarily in that order.
Next year I’ll have two releases on the shelves. Lady & The Vamp (Quinn’s book) is out April ’08 (now available at Amazon.com for pre-order, and Countdown, the futuristic romance I’m writing under the name Michelle Maddox is out in August ’08. I’m really excited about both of these books and can’t wait until they’re out, but I’m trying to be patient. Not one of my virtues, I’m afraid!
Okay, enjoy the Fall, and the next time I update, I hope to have lots more news!
Some months just naturally have more news than others!
Bitten & Smitten won the 2007 Holt Medallion for best first book! Hooray!!
I have signed with my publisher (Grand Central, formerly Warner Books) to do two more Sarah Dearly books! Another hooray!! There will be five books altogether in the “Immortality Bites” series, including Lady and the Vamp (April ’08) which is a spin-off with the character Quinn. The next Sarah book, Stakes & Stilettos, will be out in early 2009.
I will be doing a signing on July 7th at Chapters in Woodbridge, Ontario.
I am also jetting off to Dallas to go to the RWA National Conference from July 11 – 14, including the huge charity signing open to the public. If you’re there, please stop by my table and say hi!
At this very moment I am putting the finishing touches on my revisions to Lady and the Vamp, and also writing my Shomi title, Countdown. Very busy! But it’s all good.
Have a wonderful July!
One more little teensy month until Fanged & Fabulous is out!
My first book, Bitten & Smitten, is a finalist in the 2007 Holt Medallion contest for “Best First Book.” Hooray!
I have very recently signed a deal to write a book for Dorchester Publishing’s exciting new SHOMI line of speculative (think futuristic thriller!) romance. I’m very excited to write Countdown, which I am writing under the name “Michelle Maddox.” It’s about a petty thief and a hardened criminal forced to play a game together where their lives are at stake. It’s quite a bit darker than my “Michelle Rowen” titles and I am having so much fun writing it!
I love May! Finally there is almost zero chance of snow. Almost. The grass is green, the flowers are blooming…
I have officially (just moments ago, actually) handed in my fourth novel, Lady and the Vamp, to my editor. (Side note: “Warner Books” has changed their name to “Grand Central Publishing”). This book takes place right after the events in Fanged & Fabulous and features the ex-vampire hunter, Quinn, from my Sarah Dearly books. Barring any unforeseen disaster, this book will be out one year from now: May 2008!
I have received the final cover of Fanged & Fabulous, and I think it’s just fabulous. Check it out on my Books page. It’s also now available for Pre-Order on Amazon.com!
I have a Yahoo! discussion group where I’m putting exclusive content. ie: Chapters of Fanged & Fabulous months before they go live on this website. Join up today and check it out!
I’m happy to announce that my third novel, Fanged & Fabulous is all finished, and now is just going through the journey all manuscripts take to be made into books. It will be on the shelves July 2007. I have already started writing my fourth novel, which follows the ex-vampire hunter/now vampified Quinn, as he looks for love, liberty, and the pursuit of a magical artifact called “The Eye” which he hopes will solve his many fanged problems. It’s going to be called Lady and the Vamp and I’m really excited about the story!
Well, there’s not much news this month. Summers are slow and… hold on, wait just a minute…
I think I know of something…
****** Angel with Attitude is now available!! ******
I think the most frequently asked question about the new book is: “Excuse me, Michelle Rowen, but are those your legs pictured on the cover of the book?” To which the answer is: “Of course they are!” *blinks*
Holy talking rats, Batman…there’s another conference this month! I’ll be heading down south for the Romance Writers of America National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia from July 25 – 31 and taking part in the massive book signing.
Okay, it’s true… the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention is something everyone has to experience at least once in their lives. From the workshops, to the free books, to the massive bookfair…to schmoozing with readers, writers, editors, and agents (and don’t forget the cover models), a fun time was had by all.
Fourth time’s the charm. Angel with Attitude has been picked up by bookclub #4, The Literary Guild. They must have heard about the talking rat. Everybody loves a talking rat. Don’t they?
Speaking of, only one more month till my fallen angel with that attitude of hers hits the stands. The July 2006 issue of Romantic Times BOOKreview magazine gives Angel with Attitude 4 stars, and says that my “sassy and sexy characters” make for “downright fun reading.”
April showers bring May flowers. And speaking of showers, I’m going to be a bridesmaid for my friend’s wedding next month. Always a bridesmaid, never a… hmmm. How does that saying go again? I have conveniently forgotten.
May also brings a trip for me to Daytona Beach, Florida for the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention from May 16 – 21. I’ll be the fully dressed blonde chick (bathing suit? What? I can’t hear you) sitting by the pool, sucking back a raspberry margarita (which, FYI, is my favorite drink aside from Diet Coke). Oh, and I’ll be a part of the humongous book signing, too.
Is it just me, or is this year flying by? It’s already April! The snow is melting (hoorah!). This means that there are only three more months until Angel with Attitude falls to earth. (Get it? She’s a fallen angel? Oh, never mind).
I recently received the great news that my little angel has been initiated into the club. Angel with Attitude will be a featured alternate selection and available as a bookclub-edition hardcover through Rhapsody, Doubleday and Science Fiction Book Clubs! Good stuff.
I’m happy to announce that I’ve just signed another two-book contract with Warner! I will be writing (actually I should be doing that right now) the sequel to Bitten & Smitten along with another top secret (for the time being) novel! I always envisioned fledgling vampire Sarah Dearly’s story to be more than one book…
There’s a lot more to explore in her world, so I’m very excited and grateful to be given the opportunity. The book will be titled Fanged & Fabulous and will be out in Spring 2007. A whole year from now, yes, but the first chapter will be at the back of Angel with Attitude to give you a sneak peek at what’s to come.
Speaking of my little fallen angel, four more months till Angel with Attitude is on the shelves. Which means one thing…. chapter excerpts start next month! Stay tuned.
And remember, I’m always updating my blog, so check there to find out the latest happenings…
Santa was very good to me over the Holidays – though he, yet again, neglected to leave Hugh Jackman under the tree as I requested. I guess I’ll have to try again next year!
Bitten & Smitten is now on the shelves in all it’s pretty, diva-shirted, bat-necklaced, blue-covered glory! How excited am I? Very excited, that’s how excited I am.
I can’t believe it’s already the last month of 2005. There are a whole lotta check marks on my calendar this year as I’ve counted down the days to the release of Bitten & Smitten. Only one more month! Somebody pinch me!
I’m very happy to announce that the Warner Women blog which I am a part of along with 18 other Warner authors, has been chosen as one of The Internet Writing Journal’s truly outstanding writer’s blogs.
I’m thrilled to announce that Bitten & Smitten has been chosen as a featured alternate in both Rhapsody and Doubleday book clubs.
Chapter 1 is available for anyone who wants a peek at what this book’s all about.
My second book finally has an official title. It’s going to be Angel with Attitude . My wrongfully accused fallen angel’s story of love with a bad boy, talking rodents, and the pursuit of getting the heck back to heaven will hit the shelves July 2006.
Bewitched, Bothered & BeVampyred has been picked up by Borders and will be soon available in their stores as well as online as a trade paperback.
The Romance Writers of American conference in Reno, Nevada was a lot of fun – and thoroughly exhausting. One year till Atlanta!
I can’t believe it’s only five months till Bitten & Smitten is released. It’s already available as a pre-order through Amazon. How time flies when you’re… revising, copy editing, blogging, and websiting. The countdown begins!
Bitten & Smitten has received a fantastic early review from Romantic Times BOOKclub: “Droll wit and wacky humor meet vampire mythology in this fun & clever debut…Keep an eye on this new discovery!” Not too shabby, I’d say! I’ll take it! No word on how many stars it’s earned, but I can be patient and wait till the issue hits the stands in December. *sweats profusely*
My second book for Warner Forever (presently searching for a new title) now has an official release date of July 2006 – just six little months after my first one. So this time next year I’ll officially be a multi-published author! How weird is that? (very weird, trust me). It’s about a ‘wrongfully convicted’ fallen angel and her trip to the underworld to retrieve an object that could help send her back to heaven. There are demons! Witches! Murder! Seduction! Did I mention it’s a comedy romance?
I will be attending the Romance Writer’s of America conference in Reno, Nevada from July 27 – 31. I have nothing to sign so I will be wandering about aimlessly…probably near the slot machines.
